Pete Xylander, is a music producer, remixer and designer. His influences range from hard techno, through melodic electronica to ambient cinematics and his music shifts effortlessly from one end of this spectrum to the other.
Although often dark in tone, Xylander’s music is lifted by subtle injections of his sense of humour which bleeds through from time to time despite his best efforts to suppress it and appear like a ‘serious artist’. His new single Hectic Life (Busy Busy Busy!) is one such example which is based around a 50 year old recording of his uncle and grandma recording a letter on tape to another relative that was recently unearthed in the shed. The tape was recently unearthed… not the relative.
Aware that electronic music can easily become lifeless, Xylander infuses his productions with field recordings he captures anywhere and everywhere. If you see a man holding a digital recorder up to a metal gate obsessively opening and closing it you may just have spotted him.
